Reconciliation

In our First Reconciliation (or Penance) preparation program, our goal is to help the children understand and ultimately experience the beauty and joy of receiving God's forgiveness and merciful love.

Using "Reconciliation" published by Sadlier, we teach the children that God created us "good" and to be in a loving relationship with Him.  God has given us the 10 Commandments and other gifts to help us be in that loving relationship with Him, others, and ourselves.  However, there are times that we choose to disobey God (we choose to sin) and we can hurt those relationships.  The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a gift from God to help us heal those relationships through conversion, confession, and the acknowledgement of God's mercy.

Preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation begins at the end of September and children will participate in the Sacrament in December.  Classes are held on Wednesdays at 4:30 pm.  There is an additional Parent Meeting and a Parent & Child Workshop that parents are expected to attend.

Registration for the program is available in mid-August.

Please Note: A child must prepare for and receive the Sacrament of First Reconciliation PRIOR to participating in the Sacrament of First Holy Communion.

If you have an older child whom you would like to register for this program, or if you have any questions about First Reconciliation, please contact Kathy Raible at 651-459-4596.

If your child has not made his/her First Reconciliation by 6th grade, please contact Elizabeth Trksak at 651-459-4596.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered for all every Saturday from 4:00 to 4:45 pm., or by appointment.  Call the office at 651-459-4596 for information.
